Business Development Representative

As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Bild, you’ll be on the front lines of introducing modern PDM to engineering-led organizations. Your job is not to “sell features,” but to identify teams struggling with CAD data management, spark meaningful conversations, and qualify opportunities for the Sales team.

You’ll engage with mechanical engineers, CAD administrators, engineering managers, and operations leaders - often at companies that have never formally evaluated a PDM before, or are frustrated with legacy systems. This is a consultative, high-signal outbound role focused on quality conversations, not volume for volume’s sake.

What You’ll Do

Prospecting & Outreach

  • Identify and research target accounts in hardware-focused industries (robotics, consumer electronics, industrial equipment, medical devices, aerospace, etc.)
  • Develop thoughtful outbound outreach via:
    • Email
    • LinkedIn
    • Phone
  • Personalize messaging based on:
    • Company size and maturity
    • CAD stack and tooling
    • Product lifecycle stage (R&D vs scale-up)
  • Engage prospects with relevant problems, not generic pitches

Qualification & Discovery

  • Run initial discovery calls to understand:
    • Current CAD and PDM setup
    • Pain points around version control, collaboration, and releases
    • Team structure and decision-making process
  • Qualify opportunities using criteria such as:
    • Engineering team size
    • CAD complexity
    • Timeline and urgency
  • Clearly articulate when Bild is - or is not - a good fit

Pipeline Generation

  • Book high-quality meetings and demos for Account Executives
  • Maintain accurate pipeline data in CRM
  • Follow up thoughtfully and persistently with engaged prospects
  • Support account-based strategies for mid-market and enterprise accounts

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to:
    • Refine messaging based on real conversations
    • Provide feedback on objections and competitive positioning
  • Share insights on market trends, buyer behavior, and common pain points
  • Collaborate on campaigns, events, webinars, and partner-led outreach

Continuous Improvement

  • Test and iterate on messaging, sequences, and targeting
  • Learn the Bild product and PDM/PLM space deeply over time
  • Develop toward a future role as an Account Executive or Solutions-oriented seller

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

  • 1-3+ years in a BDR/SDR or outbound sales role (B2B SaaS preferred)
  • Proven ability to generate pipeline through outbound efforts
  • Comfort speaking with technical buyers and engineering-led teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Sales & Business Skills

  • Ability to explain complex problems clearly and succinctly
  • Strong qualification and discovery skills
  • Organized and disciplined with follow-ups and CRM hygiene

  • Experience selling to:
    • Technical engineering teams
